Here is some information about my person that is not directly related to professional activities. Because work is not everything in life.

About me

picture of Daniel
I was born in the city of Vienna, Austria, in 1986. It is where I went to school, and later university. I still live here, and I still think that it is a great place to be. I've been living in the district Innere Stadt (first district, inner city) since 2020.

Motorcycle Riding

I have taken up riding in the spring of 2014. Riding a motorcycle is an incredible feeling. I find it exhilarating and relaxing at the same time. It requires absolute concentration on the road ahead of you and in this way clears the mind of all other things.

I enjoy riding for short trips in the evening, for explorations that may take the better part of a day as well as for tours spanning several days. If you want to go for a ride near Vienna feel free to contact me.

Lifting Weights

Something else that helps me to relax and take my mind off stressful things is lifting weights. Preferably of the heavy variety. Much like riding a motorcycle, it helps me to clear my mind. Here, too, the activity in front of you requires absolute attention - to achieve your own goals and to prevent injuries.

I have been lifting weights since 2012. The great thing about lifting is that there is a constant challenge to it. There is always someone stronger or with better form to their exercise. There is always reason to push.

Playing Videogames

Probably my oldest hobby besides reading. I have been into gaming since my family got a Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) way back. If I had to guess, I'd say I started when I was about four years old. I was gifted with my first PC at six and that has been my gaming platform of choice ever since. I did own a Sega Saturn (yes, that thing), PlayStation and PlayStation 3. Yet I have always preferred PCs for gaming and still do.

If you are into gaming and want to get together some time, you can reach me on the Steam platform. Here is a link to my Steam profile, feel free to add me as a friend. I am usually up for online gaming after hours.

Reading Books

I have enjoyed books since very early in primary school. My favourites have always been fictions about adventure and the mythical, fantastical matter. Reading has been a way for me to visit other places and experience different realities since my early youth.
